Gary LaRocque

Gary LaRocque is a former Minor League Baseball player and manager. A graduate of the University of Hartford, he was an All-American shortstop and was picked in the 14th round of the 1975 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. He played in the minor leagues for three seasons.

He was a manager in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system from 1981 to 1988, managing for the Lethbridge Dodgers (1981–1982), Gulf Coast Dodgers (1983), San Antonio Dodgers (1984–1987) and Bakersfield Dodgers (1988). He was named the "Manager of the Year" in the Pioneer Baseball League in 1981. He then went to the New York Mets system as scouting director from 1998–2003 and became the Mets Director of Player Development and Assistant General Manager/Vice President in 2004.[1] In 2008 he signed on with the St. Louis Cardinals as Senior Special Assistant to the General Manager.[2]
